HOW CYCLONE DUST COLLECTOR WORKS?

A cyclone dust collector is a device used to enhance the quality of air released from industries & commercial processes by separating dust and other impurities from air or gas.
In the case of boilers multicyclone dust collector is used to remove particulates from flue gases. Dust collectors are particulate control devices that use centrifugal force & gravity settling to collect pollutants.
A high speed rotating air flow is established within a cylindrical or conical dust collector called a cyclone. Air flows in a helical pattern. Larger particles strike the outside wall and then fall to the bottom of the cyclone from where they can be removed easily.

Why spirals are provided at the Idustrial Boiler Chimney

Chimney:- Chimney , as we know, is used to reject the flue gases to the atmosphere, coming from the Steam Boiler during operation. Also, it is a megastructure in Steam Boiler assembly and any discrepancy in its structural and foundation work can cause extremely serious damages, may even lead to casualties or plant shut off till its re-erection. The designer must consider all the factors while designing chimneys and one of the major factors amongst them is the wind factor.
