Cost effective way to generate hot air from flue gases

The current society across the globe has embraced environmental-friendly ways to   generate hot air   hence the need to use flue gas. One of the most efficient and environment-friendly ways to generate indirect heat is from flue gases .i.e.    Hot Air Generator - Model . The process of operation occurs when cold air is inserted in a hot air generator, and it absorbs heat from the flue gas passage and when cold air and flue gas are moving in different direction and eventually transferring the heat from flue gas to cold air eventually producing hot air. Hot Air Generators - Thermodyne Boilers Hot air generator   using flue gas caters to any hot air requirement of any drier, replaces electricity and steam to   generate hot air   and the drying time and drying cost is considerably reduced therefore providing an economically cheapest clean air available instantly.   Hot air generators   are used as industrial use where...

Coil Types Boilers (Revosteam)

Coil Type Boiler is the traditional forced-circulation kind water tube coil type boiler incorporating the distinctive principle of combustion referred to as ‘Reverse Flow. Coil type Boiler will increase the combustion potency and permits a high rate of warmth unharness. It is often offered in each IBR and Non-IBR Design. Construction       The boiler contains a jacketed MS shell housing a spiraling coiled. The combustion air is forced through the jacketed shell by means that of a centrifugal blower thereby obtaining to pre-heated. The flame travels downwardly within the coil and also the flue gases reverse upwards thereby giving 2 passes within the effulgent zone making certain complete combustion and best heat flux. The third pass of the flue gases is within the convective zone between the coil and also the inner shell. Flue gases then trip the economizer forming the fourth pass. Advantages of Coil Type Boiler: Fully Automatic unit Unique four pass d...

THERMOSIPHONING

THERMOSIPHONING Thermosiphoning  is a process that utilizes basic laws of thermodynamics to create a movement of heated supply of water without the necessity of a mechanical pump. Thermosiphon  refers to a method of passive   heat exchange  based on natural convection Movement of liquid starts when a liquid in a loop is heated and become less dense Convection move heated liquid upwards in the systems and is simultaneously replaced by cooler liquid returning by gravity Thermosiphoning  is used for circulation of  liquids & volatile gases  in  heat pumps, water heaters, Steam boilers and furnace  etc.

Boiler | What is Boiler | Steam Boilers

What is Boiler?   A boiler is defined as “a closed vessel in which water or other liquid is heated, steam or vapor is generated, steam is superheated, or any combination thereof, under pressure or vacuum, for use external to itself, by the direct application of energy from the combustion of fuels, from electricity or nuclear energy”. Furnaces compatible with solid fuels(wood/coal/briquettes/pet coke/rice husk) and liquid fuels (LDO/Furnace oil) and Gaseous Fuels ( LPG, LNG, PNG) can be used to carry out the combustion for the specific purpose. The boiler has a very a wide application such as power sector, textiles, plywood, FMCG etc. We, at Thermodyne, design, manufacture and supply ISO 9001:2008 certified steam boilers , for such processes and several others too. Thermodyne boilers can help you by saving up to 30% of the fuel cost by providing high-efficiency boilers , the Energy consultancy, and customized heating solutions. Fuel saving is not only importa...

2 REASONS WHY BOILER EXPLOSION CAUSES SO MUCH DAMAGE?

BOILER EXPLOSION  A boiler explosion is a ruinous failure of a boiler. Any Boiler explosion results in two major events:   The steam under pressure is suddenly exposed to much lower pressure i.e. Atmospheric Pressure resulting it to expand to almost 10-15 times expansion of its volume.   The tremendous amount of energy stored in the pressurized boiler water is suddenly released prompting sudden evaporation of 15 to 20% of the water to get converted into Flash steam . This steam also expands to more than 1700 times its original volume causing catastrophic damages.

VACUUM STEAM

Saturated steam at temperatures below 100°C is called vacuum steam.  VACUUM STEAM Vacuum steam  is generated at  higher pressures  after which its pressure is reduced by using equipment such as  pressure reducing valve .  A  vacuum pump  is also usually used to achieve necessary pressure differential at start-up to enable the smooth release of condensate. ADVANTAGES Production of  saturated steam  for heating  below 100 degree Celsius Improved productivity and product quality Temperature can be quickly and precisely established  Smaller required  heat transfer surface area , enabling reduced initial equipment cost

WHAT IS STEAM TRAP?

Steam traps  are a type of automatic valve that filters out condensate and non condensable gases and air with negligible consumption of steam. ADVANTAGES: 1. Immediate & complete condensate discharge 2. Does not leak steam even when used for long periods of time 3. Negligible steam consumption 4. Can discharge non condensable gases & air INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS: • Industrial dryers • Laundries • Steaming ovens • Autoclave • Process Equipments

5 MAJOR LOSSES DUE TO SCALING IN BOILERS

A hard coating deposit on the heat transfer surface of the boiler is called scaling. Boiler scale is caused by precipitation of TDS (calcium, magnesium, iron, silica etc.) in the boiler. Effects: 1. As scale is insulator of heat it reduces heat transfer leading to heat loss 2. Overheating of metal surface 3. Higher stack temperature 4. Higher fuel consumption 5. Increase maintenance PREVENTIVE MEASURES: 1. Pretreatment of boiler water by external water treatment i.e. demineralization & reverse osmosis etc. 2. Using Boiler water treatment chemicals 3. Treatment with polymeric dispersants & phosphates 4. Optimum boiler blowdown

5EFFECTIVE WAYS TO GET RID OF WATER HAMMER IN STEAM SYSTEMS

What is water hammer? Water hammer is a wave / loud hammer like sound, caused when a fluid in motion is forced to stop or change direction suddenly. Causes: 1. Sudden condensation of steam 2. Build up of condensate along the length of steam pipe forming a solid slug i.e. when it encounters any bend its K.E. gets converted into pressure energy 3. Sudden closing of valve or tap i.e. due to which pressure wave propagates in pipe Effects: 1. Damage of flow meters installed on steam network 2. Rupture and disruption of piping 3. Catastrophic hazards Preventive Measure 1. Install steam line always with gradual slope in direction of flow 2. Install steam traps at regular intervals and also at low point 3. Avoid sagging of pipes by providing proper support 4. Open isolation valve slowly during start up 5. Drain pockets should be sized enough to ensure that all the condensate reaches the trap

BOILER FUELS

Boiler fuels Fuels  are used to heat water or produce steam from  boilers . The common fuels fall into one of four categories are:- Solid Liquid Gaseous Electricity The first three are used most commonly to fire boilers and are composed mainly of carbon and hydrogen with small amounts of sulphur and incombustible material. All the three  fuels  are easily available for  industrial , commercial and domestic use. Electricity may also be used as a second generation fuel and is used to  heat small steam and hot water boilers  where emissions are prohibited.

12 Major losses in the Boiler

Losses in Steam Boiler Dry Flue Gas Losses (Stack losses) H2 Losses Moisture in Fuel Moisture in Air CO Losses Surface Losses – Due to Poor Insulation Fly Ash Losses – Heat Carried by Fly Ash Bottom Losses (Unburnt Losses) OTHER LOSSES Losses due to poor Smoke side Boiler sealing. Losses due to Steam leakages. Blow-down loss. Losses due to the part load operation.

Air Pre heaters

Air Pre Heaters   Air pre heaters                 Air preheaters are provided in boilers to preheat the combustion air. Types           There are two main types: Tubular or recuperative air  pre heaters Regenerative air pre  heaters  Tubular or recuperative air pre-heaters are provided in boilers of a medium and small range of steam generation . This type of air pre-heater becomes very large in size if they have to be used in very high capacity boilers like 600 TPH of steam production and above.  Regenerative air per-heaters are compact and can have a stationary or rotating hood. A combination of a tubular and regenerative type of air pre-heaters is used in very high capacity boilers . " The tubular being used for primary air heating and the regenerative used for the secondary air heating ." In case the boiler designers do not want to go for a combination of tubula...
